CAI FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
OFFICIAL RECOGNITION OF THE ASSOCIATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AS CAI
(Article 1 of Ministerial Decree of 20.02.1987)
CAI belongs fully to the ranks of "environmental protection associations, provides for art. 13 of Law July 8, 1986 No. 349 "Institution of the Ministry of the Environment" which gives the department the power to identify "the associations of environmental protection at national character."
These associations are listed in Article. 1 of Ministerial Decree 20.02.1987 which reads as follows: "shall be identified, as Article. 13 of Law 349 8/7/1986, ... the following associations for environmental protection, already identified for the first constitution of the National Council for the Environment: Amici della Terra, Associazione Kronos 1991, Club Alpino Italiano, Federnatura, Fondo Ambiente Italiano, Gruppi di ricerca ecologia, Italia Nostra, Lega Ambiente, Lega Italiana Protezione Uccelli, Mare Vivo, Touring Club Italiano, World Wildlife Fund, nonché l’associazione Greenpeace”(later 19 other environmental groups were also recognized) ..
